Travel Log Day 55 to 59 The Khmer Kingdom of Cambodia! Horrible Genocide by the monster Pol Pot

Blessings friends,

We left Singapore very early in the morning had a blast staying with our good friends Has Na and Wal, the night before we had a nice dinner and met up with our friend Barrat and his wife Asuka from san francisco along with Andriano and Mirza.

Departed early morning towards the Capital of Cambodia Phnom Penh on a Jetstar Asia, a Singaporean Low Budget airline that goes all over south east asia, Europe, and Hawaii you can find super cheap deals for 20US dls to malaysia or Indonesia and stuff..

It was a quick flight to Phnom Penh and when we got there we met up with our good friends from Japan Dana and his girlfriend Machiko we then got hooked up on the local cambodian cellphone service for only $5US for 500MB per month internet so amazing deal.

We then hired a tuk tuk and headed towards our guest house called " Top Banana " a super nice clean guesthouse highly recommended to anyone visiting Phnom Penh has Free Wireless Internet for all guests and nice vibe.

On our way to the guesthouse from the airport we met this guy from France he all of a sudden stuck with us and looked at us with this eyes if he could come with us so i said yes come we can all share a taxi to our hotel.. We then got our room dana machiko rafa and me and the guy got his own room, we went out to explore the city but this guy had a really weird vibe he never spoke and had like a very weird almost serial killer vibe, he was friendly but rude at same time we were all kind of sketched out because everywhere we went he followed us, dana catalog him as the must weirdo person he ever met in his entire life.. When i try to make conversation with him he will say why you ask dont aks me things but he was walking with us so i said listen man you are with us we want to get to know you but he didnt let us get to know him he was super closed up but not in a shy way but in a very creepy way, he told us he was shooting guns in Thailand and very vague info we had on this guy, so we naturally started drifting away from him we then spotted him tearing up all this papers in front of us but kind of pretending not to be seen but he was very obvious anyways super creepy dude also he had this weird bleeding on his neck all the time..

We had been eating the best food we found this amazing sandwiches for super cheap and we had also an amazing coconut soup curry was awesome!!! the food is been amazing, we then had for dinner this local speciality food we ate in a restaurant that must of the profits go towards helping street kids..

We found all kinds of crazy food commodities in the wild streets of Phnom Penh

We explored around the central market areas

We then for desert got a a great foot massage not even compared to the ones in china but was fair enough...

The following day we got ourselves ready to visit around the city, we had few options according to all the tour guides and tuk tuk drivers either the killing fields or the genocide museum or going into the shooting range to shoot m16 and grenade launchers this place is filled with post apocalyptic war vibe a little bit of history! The General Pol Pet a fucked up communist dictador lead the revolution of cambodia exterminating approximately 2.5 million innocent people, marking one of the ugly and horrific chapters on human history, he lead the Khmer Roug in the 1970s.

I never used a gun in my life and actually i am very much against them if you have one u must use it and i dont believe in violence even thought the sounds of shooting with this crazy caliber guns sounded amazing we all felt we should not do that..
we then chose to visit the horrific site of "KILLING FIELDS"

A commemorative stupa filled with the skulls of the victims at Choeung Ek, demonstrates the tragic and horrible side of humanity hopefully raising consciousness and prevent future generations to commit the same mistakes again and learn for once that we are all one and one big family..

This are the victims clothes that have come up with the rain along the years..

The memorial park has been constructed around the mass graves of many thousands of victims in Choeung Ek. The Buddhist constructed a large pagoda with the skulls giving the area a sense of respect for the people that were killed during this horrible genocide..

Many dozens of mass graves are visible above ground, several which have not been excavated as of yet. Commonly, bones and clothing surface after heavy rainfalls due to the extremely large number of bodies still buried in the area. It is not uncommon to run across the bones or teeth of the victims scattered on the surface of the park.

The whole site had a really really really sad energy u could feel the pain and sorrow of the victims i couldnt even talk the whole time i was there i just hold rafa hand as we talked around the mass graves..

We then left the place feeling horrible and we cancel our trip to the Genocide museum we had enough! Dana then wanted to check the Russian market a hub of identical fake brands for super cheap costs, but when we got there we didn't really find good stuff and i didn't get to find any ethnic clothing i was looking for but we chilled there and hanged out in the food court market for while mingling with the locals and checking out the local flavors

We ran into this supa cutie kitten and a bottle with a Cobra Eating a Scorpion SUGOIII!!

We then went back to the hotel and took our super nice bus towards the City of Siem Reap the seat of the ancient site of ANGKOR WAT!!

The bus ride was super nice Rafa and I had front seats and the bus was a double decker with toilets and stuff and had a great view and super nice music the whole way.. we also stopped in a rest stop and dana and i ate a tarantula leg no photos of the encounter yet we waiting to make a nice video of it..

The view of the Mekong River was epic was able to capture a few snapshots of the sunset

Once we arrived we had a driver waitting for us since we made reservations in my friends villa OHM which i super amazingly highly recommend it is run by a beautiful german couple goa freaks that migrated here recently so we were the first GUESTS here the whole villa is amazing rafa wants to stay for 3 days minimum!! :)

Today we relax and go later to watch the sunset in Agnkor Wat waiting to go tomorrow 5am to explore the ancient site!

LOVE IS ALL!!

Guillermo
